Summer Song
Cool breeze you faded,
And gave way to warmth.
Then it’s hot for the Summer to tromp.
O Summer, your rolling eyes!
You play with the precarious dice.
Keep us all in bated breath,
What next for your rage’s feat?
We look for cover, we look for cool,
Pampering breeze beside the pool,
Chilled corner and sweetened drinks,
Scoop of ice cream for life to spin.
Why this anger? Why shoot fire?
Push us onto the place so dire?
Trickling sweat, with quashed power
Leave us nothing but to count hour.
When will your temper down?
And straighten your fiery frown?
When will the storm of dust
Fight the heat with severe blast?
Once it comes our heart leaps
For we know this a mighty trip.
Our hero, the Storm, will fight the heat.
Will surely bring a respite bit.
Then the cool breeze briskly reappears,
Dirt settles down without any fear.
Discomfort makes a tryst with pleasant,
For the soothing calm that were being truant.
